The Role at a glance:
Major Tasks and Responsibilities of this role:
- Stores food and supplies neatly in proper storage areas. Places perishables in refrigerators or freezers promptly upon receipt.
- Rotates stock to ensure items first received are first used. Utilizes dating mechanisms. Removes dented cans or other damaged items from stock and places in designated area for return to vendor.
- Sweeps, mops, and organizes storage areas daily. Removes empty boxes and debris from walkways. Avoids placing heavy objects on high shelves.
- Ensures stored items meet state standards of no less than 6 inches from floor and 18 inches from ceiling. Avoids placing any items directly on floors.
- Checks temperatures in storerooms, refrigerator, and freezer areas. Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Executive Chef (or Maintenance Department in emergency situations).
- Maintains security in storage areas as per department policy.
- Supervises and provides direction to assigned foodservice employees to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to department standards. Provides coaching as needed and communicates performance concerns to management when appropriate.
- Completes and maintains required work logs, including but not limited to temperature logs, cleaning logs, production records, receiving documentation, and sanitation checklists, ensuring accuracy and compliance with food safety and company policies.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation across all foodservice areas, including kitchens, storage areas, prep spaces, service lines, dish areas, and waste disposal areas, in accordance with health department regulations and company sanitation standards.
- Monitors staff adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures; corrects issues immediately and escalates concerns when needed.
- Practices personal cleanliness; wears clean uniforms and hair coverings as per department dress code.
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance and completion of job tasks.
- Attends meetings and training programs as required.
- Approaches customers and coworkers in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Completes other duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate/GED
- 6 months food service experience highly desirable.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Able to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines.
- Courteous, customer service attitude.

- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs. (80%)

Compensation:
$27 an hour.
