We are seeking to add a motivated full time Event Team Captain / Event Service Manager for our Constellation Culinary Events Team in Philadelphia, PA.  Reporting to the Regional Director of Service as Event Team Captain, you will have the opportunity to execute large scale events with event team employees while supporting the service department in training and administrative tasks.  This role will be based out of our PA Commissary with travel throughout the CCG PA region executing events across various cultural units and off premise locations.  The ideal candidate has 2-5 years events and catering experience with a focus on front of the house service and large event execution.

•    Support the development of Service models for new venues and events.  
•    Perform the function of Event Lead Captain at 3-4 Events per week, this includes tastings, set-ups and events.  Must be comfortable with creating assignments and steps of service for small and large events and capable of running large scale social and corporate events.
•    Oversee setup and breakdown of FOH and BOH event spaces.
•    Conduct walk –through of event spaces as needed to support event planning and production.
•    Check in rentals and troubleshoot rental orders shortcomings as needed.
•    Monitor events to consistently deliver profitable, high-level service for all aspects of the event execution.
•    Maintain and continually improve, update, and implement standardized operating procedures (SOP’s) for the front of the house (FOH) for staff.
•    Review event packets for accuracy and timeliness- summarizing into an event execution plan/steps of service.
•    Uphold CCG PA event standards in service, presentation, and operational logistics.
•    Track and maintain event team members KPI’s to be utilized in annual reviews.
•    Assist Regional Director of Service and Staffing Manager in writing and conducting Principal Staffing Evaluations & Captain Reviews. 
•    Assist in the development and execution of necessary training programs for Service associates.
•    Provide feedback on events team personnel.
•    Partner with Regional Service Director and Staffing Manager on events team personnel matters.
•    Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding event team members seasonally.
•    Attend and participate in weekly Ops meeting to ensure effective communication and understanding of event/ client requirements. 
•    Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
•    Work with purchasing and event management to ensure that all beverage systems are meeting standards.
•    Monitor labor and beverage controls at events.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years Event / Banquet or Operations management experience in high volume and quality hotel, catering or hospitality establishment.
  • Able to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels- including nights and weekends.
  • Prior event execution management experience required.
  • Must be detail oriented and have a strong ability to multitask appropriate work.
  • Must have proven organizational skills and be proactive and effective in problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel a must.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients, and vendors when necessary.

Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000 depends on experience
