Join our Constellation Culinary Events team as a full-time Service Manager in Philadelphia, PA! In this role, you'll partner closely with the service and staffing departments to bring large-scale events to life while helping train and support our growing service team. We're looking for a hospitality-driven leader who embodies stellar hospitality leads by example and elevates the experience for both clients and guests. You should feel energized by creating remarkable moments, coaching teams to deliver best-in-class hospitality, and maintaining a polished, professional guest-facing presence. This position is based at our Philadelphia Commissary and includes travel throughout the CCG PA region to execute and support events across our cultural venues and off-premise sites. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of hospitality or catering experience, with a strong focus on front-of-house leadership, large-event exectuion, and delivering outstanding hospitality at every touchpoint.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the development and implementation of service models for venues and events.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of event spaces to support planning, production, and overall event flow.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for event execution and service—reviewing menus, equipment needs, staffing plans, and site layouts for each event.
  • Act as Lead Event Captain for 2–4 events per week, including tastings, setups, and event execution. Create assignments and steps of service for events of all sizes and confidently lead large-scale social and corporate events.
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with standards.
  • Review & check in rental orders, manage discrepancies, and troubleshooting issues as needed.

  • Maintain, improve, and implement standardized FOH operating procedures (SOPs) for event staff.
  • Review event packets for completeness and accuracy translating them into clear execution plans and steps of service. Uphold CCG PA standards for service, presentation, guest experience, and operational logistics.
  • Track and maintain KPIs for event team members for use in coaching, performance reviews, and development conversations.
  • Assist the Staffing and Service departments in writing and conducting annual reviews, Principal Staffing Evaluations, and Captain Reviews.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs for service associates at all levels.
  • Provide in-the-moment, on-site coaching and feedback to event staff to reinforce CCG’s mission of delivering exceptional hospitality.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new event team members.
  • Attend and participate in weekly Operations meetings to ensure alignment and clear communication regarding events, venue, and client requirements.
  • Participate in all required meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
  • Monitor and manage labor and beverage controls during events to align with budgetary and operational goals.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 2 years of hospitality, banquet, or operations management experience within a high-volume, high-quality hotel, catering, or hospitality environment.
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends, to support business and event needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in event execution and on-site event management.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage workload effectively.
  • Proven organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional hospitality instincts along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with associates, management, clients, and vendors.

Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000 dependent on experience
