Constellation Culinary Group at The New York Botanical Garden is a premier venue specializing in dining and events, known for creating exceptional experiences in a beautiful and dynamic environment. We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Supervisor to support and maintain our facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards required for seamless dining and event services. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of all facilities, working directly with the Facilities Director and General Manager to support high-quality operations for our Café, Restaurant, Concessions, and Event spaces. 

 

 

Division: Constellation - Elior North America 
Location: The New York Botanical Garden, Bronx, NY 
Reports to: Facilities Manager // General Manager  

 

Compensation is $25-$28 an hour.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Daily Maintenance & Upkeep: Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facilities, including dining areas, event spaces, kitchens, and support areas. 
Inventory & Supplies Management: Maintain and manage inventory for essential maintenance and operational supplies, ensuring all facilities are properly stocked and ready for use.  
Facilities Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of all facilities to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, addressing any issues as they arise.  
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, particularly those applicable to dining and event environments. 
Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with events team, kitchen staff, and other departments to support their facilities-related needs and contribute to successful event execution. 
Event Support: Provide logistical support for events by ensuring all facilities are prepared and equipped. 
Team Supervision & Training: Supervise and support the facilities team, including assisting with recruitment, conducting training, and providing regular feedback to maintain operational efficiency. 
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors for routine and specialized maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety standards. 
Facilities Strategy & Process Implementation: Help develop and implement efficient facilities management strategies and standard operating procedures tailored to the unique needs of dining and event spaces. 
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incident reports, and safety inspections, and communicate with the General Manager on project statuses and team needs. 
Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response and safety plans. 
 

Qualifications 

 

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in Facilities Management or related fields are a plus.  
3+ years of experience in facilities management or a similar role, ideally within the dining or event industry.   
Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health and safety regulations for dining and events. 
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach.   
Ability to supervise and motivate a team, fostering an environment of teamwork and accountability.   
Proficiency with facilities management software and general office applications.   
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
