The Role at a glance:
We are looking to add an experienced, skilled cafe supervisor to our Constellation team at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, NY. As a cafe supervisor, you will have the opportunity to instruct and lead a team of foodservice professionals to ensure proper meal service. You will be supporting the Pine Tree Cafe and Pop-Ups throughout the venue.
***Please note that this is a temporary/Seasonal position until 6/30/26 with the possibility of turning into a full-time opportunity***
***A flexible schedule will be needed, the position will most likely be Wednesday through Sunday but could change depending on business needs. Hours could also change during the day, and you will need to work some nights if needed.***
Compensation Range
$35-$39 an hour.
What you'll be doing:
- Instructing and training employees in all aspects of food service and sanitation.
- Educating on and administering proper portion control, appearance, and temperature for all food items per quality standards.
- Performing food preparation and production tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures and to recipes.
- Providing excellent customer service.
What we're looking for:
- Experience supervising multiple employees.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and service knowledge.
- At least one years’ experience in foodservice.
- At least one years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- An advanced degree in culinary arts or a related field.
- Food Handler’s certification.
