The Role at a glance:

We are looking for an accomplished and self-motivated General Ledger Accountant to work in a remote capacity, supporting the shared service center. This particular role will be best served by someone with vast experience completing period end closing activities and assists the segment Finance team with all Accounting related questions or analysis. If you are someone who works well collaborating but also has a strong sense of self direction, you will thrive here, as you will be the technical and functional point-of-contact for the shared service’s accounting teams, as well as the broader organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Perform month end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner

  • Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations of business units

  • Identify and resolve financial, reporting and business unit matters

  • Review other staff accountants work product (peer review), provide guidance and follow through

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations

  • Perform monthly calculations and journal entries

  • Provide audit support and review

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • 3+ years of accounting/finance experience

  • BS or BA in Accounting or other business-related field

 

Nice-to-haves:

  • CPA certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) or SAP

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS

  • Experience with financial consolidation tools a plus, such as BI360 or Hyperion 

Where you'll be working:

This position will be in Ridgeland, MS and work a hybrid schedule.
