The Procurement Analyst is responsible for driving procurement efficiency, supporting infrastructure-related procurement needs, and leveraging business intelligence tools to deliver data-driven insights. This role combines analytical expertise, process optimization, and technical knowledge to enhance procurement and infrastructure operations while aligning with organizational goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
Procurement Analysis
- Support basic accounting functions related to supply chain rebates including supplier invoicing, supplier accruals, account reconciliation, AR collections and journal entries.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process inefficiencies.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and align with business strategies.
- Prepare and present insights on procurement performance and market trends to leadership.
Infrastructure Support
- Manage procurement activities for infrastructure-related projects, including IT systems, hardware, and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and budgets in infrastructure procurement.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand infrastructure requirements and negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Oversee contract renewals and vendor performance evaluations.
Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting
- Develop and maintain BI dashboards and reports to provide visibility into procurement and infrastructure metrics.
- Use data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to present insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct detailed analysis to optimize procurement and infrastructure operations.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across procurement and infrastructure systems.
Routine Decision Making:
- Determine data analysis methods to identify procurement inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Recommend supplier strategies based on performance metrics and market trends.
- Decide on the design and updates of BI dashboards to align with organizational goals.
- Make informed choices regarding vendor selection, contract negotiation, and procurement alignment with budgets.
- Evaluate infrastructure-related procurement processes and suggest improvements.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on interpreting complex datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of infrastructure procurement, including IT systems and facilities.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- This role requires physical presence in the office located in Houston, Texas.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are common.
- This role typically works in a standard office environment with controlled lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
- Occasional long hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary, especially during critical project deadlines or organizational changes.
- This role may require occasional travel, including overnight stays, to attend meetings or events.
- The work environment will involve handling sensitive information, requiring a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, infrastructure management, business intelligence, or a similar role.
