The Role at a glance:
The Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting and analysis of the company’s key financial and operating metrics. Partner with key internal stakeholders across the business unit(s) to deliver transparency and insight into the day- to-day financial and operating trends to support the company’s continued growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Responsible for performing the day- to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas
- Research and resolve business unit(s) inquiries
- Routine communication with VP of Finance related to financial close, issues and deliverables
- Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
- Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations and deliver flash results to CFO
- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial results, including the month end presentation
- Manage annual budget process
- Prepare and deliver strategic plan financial initiatives and supporting documents
- Quarterly forecast preparation and risk/opportunity analysis
- Prepare all financial reporting requirements to Corporate Finance
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules
- Provide commercial finance support to the growth team on rebid and new business opportunities
- Prepare journal entries for month end closing
- Responsible for being a key member on special projects that support the company’s business objectives
- Cross train as back-ups for other staff in the case of emergencies
- Review and research accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Perform analysis to support the business and to provide actionable insights through fact base trends
- Ensure the master data management hierarchy is maintained and accurate
- Other duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
- 5-7 years relevant experience and knowledge of basic generally accepted accounting principles or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams from different areas, drive accountability and continuous process improvement in daily activities
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on projects and issues
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel
- Great Plains ERP experience a plus
