The Role at a glance: 

 

Our centralized Houston, TX based Accounting Organization is looking for a self-driven and solutions-oriented Accountant, Cash to join a fast paced and maturing team as they create efficiencies within their processes and procedures.    

If you are someone who works well collaborating but also has a strong sense of self direction, you will thrive here, as you will be the technical and functional point-of-contact for the shared service’s accounting teams, as well as the broader organization.

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Prepare, review and analyze bank account reconciliations of business units
  • Identify and resolve financial, reporting and business unit matters
  • Perform procedures pertaining to the weekly reconciliation of cash to revenue from unit point of sales systems
  • Performs research and analysis of cash control processes and procedures
  • Review other staff accountants work product (peer review), provide guidance and follow through
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Perform monthly calculations and journal entries
  • Provide audit support and review

What we’re looking for: 

Must-haves:
•    3+ years of accounting/finance experience
 Nice-to-haves:
•    BS or BA in Accounting or other business-related field
•    Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) or SAP
•    Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS
