The Sr. Director of Corporate Communications supervises the Manager of Communications and the company’s media relations agency, ensuring that both receive the timely content, information and supporting materials they need to execute on their strategic plans for internal communications, social media, and media relations, respectively. The leader strategizes with business leaders and agency contacts to ensure that the agency’s work is focused on the company’s areas of highest priority.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create, review and manage companywide employee messages to ensure consistency and alignment with the company’s mission, vision, values, voice, and business strategy.
  • Review, edit and approve weekly internal newsletter.
  • Review, edit and approve CEO bi-weekly newsletter.
  • Draft/edit/distribute organizational announcements in support of functions, organizational changes, service outage alerts, policy updates, etc. 
  • Organization and coordination of bi-monthly senior leadership meetings and monthly Growth team town halls
  • Agenda development, presenter coordination, slide creation, assembly, editing, review management, etc.
  • Support all company-wide virtual and live events with invitation creation, distribution, and event execution and production support.
  • Support organizational changes, program and initiative roll-outs with strategic communications plan, communications materials development and distribution (talking points, announcements, FAQs, etc.) 
  • Serve as communications liaison between Elior Group and Elior North America to maintain alignment on global corporate activities and initiatives and announcements in North America and ensure appropriate communication of both.
  • Track, measure, and report on the performance of internal communications efforts, making adjustments as necessary.
  • External Communications Responsibilities
  • Manage PR agency, including providing strategic guidance as well as serve as day-to-day contact to provide necessary materials from each company to enable agency to execute media relations plans and pitches and respond to media inquiries. Review and edit agency deliverables to ensure accuracy of voice, tone and facts.
  • Draft and distribute press releases for major company announcements.
  • Monitor media coverage of Elior North America and its family of companies, sharing and showcasing relevant news coverage regularly via weekly CEO newsletter.
  • Supervise Communications Manager, ensuring they have materials, context, content and strategic direction to plan and execute internal and external communications efforts. Provide guidance on response to sensitive issues.
  • Ensure prompt response to external media inquiries and crisis communications management, with the support of the company’s media relations/crisis communications agency.
  • Track, measure, and report on the performance of media relations efforts, making adjustments as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of communications experience, with proficiency in both external and internal communications functions. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can convey complex information with clarity.
  • Highly organized with ability to balance between short-term deliverables and long-term objectives. 
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting executive communications and developing and implementing internal communications strategies in a corporate setting.
  • Experience supervising communications team members to ensure quality and consistency of communications efforts and in supporting growth and development of team members.
  • Experience managing external agencies (PR & social media) to ensure strategic alignment, quality, and consistency of external communications campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience and judgement in successfully managing communications for sensitive crisis/issues both internally and externally.
  • Strong project management and collaborative skills.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience in leading internal and external communications in the food service or hospitality industry.
  • Experience in change management communications, leading organizations through periods of uncertainty.
  • Spoken/written proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
