The Role at a glance:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the food production line is running smoothly. This position will help maintain refrigeration and A/C equipment and perform repairs in the hot meal commissary.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting-up and running of the production line in Frozen Meals. Assisting in maintaining cooking and packaging equipment in Frozen Meals.
- Assisting in maintaining refrigeration and A/C equipment, when necessary.
- Remaining in Frozen Meal plant unless responding to an emergency.
- Attending all safety training classes.
- After production line is complete, staying in Frozen Meal plant helping where necessary. May be asked to perform non-maintenance-related tasks in Frozen Meals, if requested by Frozen Meals Director.
- Responsible for setting up the production line at 6:30 a.m. and remaining in production area until all weights are accurate and the meal is running smoothly.
- Assisting in getting weights on production line. If the line is short of help, takes weights throughout meal making necessary adjustments.
- Performing preventative maintenance on all equipment on a weekly basis with documentation.
- Sanitizing air conditioning unit.
- Responsible for removing the buildup of ice on blast and large freezer floor on a weekly basis.

What we're looking for:
Must-haves:
- College education or training in Refrigeration, Electrical, and General Maintenance or comparable experience.
- Two years’ experience in Refrigeration, Electrical, and General Maintenance
- Tested and certified on Refrigeration and A/C.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to work in freezer and cold environment for long periods of time.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in ammonia refrigeration helpful.
- Computer knowledge and skills helpful.
Compensation:
The pay rate is $19/hr.
