The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced Traveling Chef to work closely with our Corporate Chef, Food Service Directors and District Managers in the areas of Culinary, Food Safety and Sustainability. As a Traveling Chef for School Dining, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced yet efficient environment. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and execute compliant recipes, menus, and concepts
  • Support current segment-wide sustainability programs, training initiatives, and ensure the highest level of culinary standards are maintained
  • Ensuring a high level of field support
  • Exhibiting a strong commitment to food and occupational safety
  • Ensure integrity of products at exceptional value
  • Collaborate with Nutrition and Wellness team
  • Support purchasing best practices

What we're looking for:

Must-have

  • Associates Degree in Culinary Arts 
  • Must be able to travel up to 75%
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressive culinary leadership roles
  • Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards. 
  • Possess professionalism and passion for customer and client relations
  • Strong communication, cooperation, and organization skills required
  • Ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills
  • Knowledge and comfort with all Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn other software programs as needed

Nice-to-haves:

  • Previous experience in school food service under NSLP
  • Contract Management Experience, Multi-unit experience and Experience opening new accounts
  • Presentation skills and training experience preferred and ability to utilize various training and communication tools including web-based conferences and seminars, conference calls, group presentations, email communication

Compensation Range

Up to $75,000 per year
