The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, enthusiastic catering account sales manager to our Design Cuisine team in Arlington, VA. As a catering sales manager, you will have the opportunity to work independently to sell and produce events for a variety of market segments.

Compensation- $70-85,000 Base Salary Plus Commission


What you'll be doing:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policies/service procedures/standards, including but not limited to menu pricing, labor and delivery guidelines.
  • Cultivate collaborative, mutually supportive relationships with and among customers, venues, community, sales, office, culinary and service staff, both on and off premise, across Design Cuisine and Elior Brands.
  • Responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies to proactively solicit new accounts to achieve and track personal revenue goals and maximize profits for the Design Cuisine, while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in identifying, create and implementing marketing strategies to drive revenue, meet sales goals, and achieve company profitability goals.
  • Understands the overall market and complete market analysis
  • Negotiate food and beverage prices, equipment and vendor pricing, within approved departmental pricing guidelines and markups.
  • Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
  • Develop thoughtful, accurate proposals reflecting the needs and budget of the client and within pricing guidelines of Design Cuisine.

What we're looking for:


  • At least three years’ experience in event planning, sales, or event management. 
  • At least three years’ experience in hospitality or catering. 
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing and creative selling environment with the food and design skills to create exciting, profitable events.
  • Proven, demonstrated, documented successful direct selling and event management skills.
  • Has the creative ability and understands the costs of creative menus and can recommend appropriate design elements and supplemental services for special events.
  • Ability to identify and apply basic negotiation techniques in interactions with clients.


  • College education in a relevant field
