The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced Cook /Driver to our Dinning & Events team in Arlington, VA. As a cook and driver, you will have the opportunity to prepare delicious food and transport it to a variety of locations as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support to corporate catering accounts (drop off and set up), including King & Spaulding, Folger’s Library, and both Archer Hotel locations
  • Receive, organize, and maintain PAR levels for these accounts
  • Coordinate, check, and expedite deliveries to those locations
  • Drive company vehicles (van and small truck) for delivery of orders, some set up of food buffets and pickup of used equipment
  • Assist with back-of-house and warehouse operations during non-delivery periods, including:
    • Organizing and packing disposables and equipment
    • Supporting general warehouse organization
    • Assisting with some food prep as needed

This position will help streamline logistics, improve accountability for client-specific inventory (PARs), and reduce our reliance on DCR support for these deliveries and pickups.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves: 

  • Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards. 
  • Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and tools, as well as to identify and differentiate food items. 
  • High-level product knowledge and the ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service. 
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • A valid state driver’s license for the vehicle used for transport. 
  • At least one years’ experience in a high volume establishment with an emphasis on cooking from scratch. 

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Food Handler’s certification.
