The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a skilled, motivated Full-Time Administrative Assistant to our healthcare and food service team in Baton Rouge, LA. As an Administrative Assistant for Cura Hospitality, you are responsible for performing a variety of clerical/administrative functions that support the department while performing other duties as assigned. The Administrative Assistant will be scheduled Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, some weekend and holidays may be required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provides clerical and administrative support.  Type, file, copy and prepare documents.
  • Assists in the monthly inventory.
  • Produce retail signage and verify the accuracy of all posted information.
  • Assist in producing the schedule for the department.
  • Notifies management when there appears to be over or understaffing in the future.
  • Performs administrative tasks using critical thinking to complete processes in a competent and expedient manner, including ensuring adequate office supplies and maintain the expenses within department budget for such supplies.
  • Records and archives minutes from meetings.
  • Completes HR related processes as requested including new hire paperwork and employment advertising.
  • Supports the completion of financial reporting, as requested.
  • Follows up on identified issues until resolution is reached or problem is referred.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all records.  Maintains security of computer equipment and files.
  • Answers the phone promptly and courteously.  Follows through on all requests with a sense of urgency.
  • Handles all communications effectively to include call outs, patient calls, and general communications.
  • Completes all paperwork and database records accurately.
  • Actively participates in JCAHO preparation and maintenance of standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Functions with an awareness of safety and reports unsafe issues appropriately.
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills and priority setting.
  • Interacts with patients, guests, and all others in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Practices personal cleanliness, wears clean uniform or professional dress and utilizes hair coverings as per department dress code.
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance and completion of job tasks.
  • Attends meetings and training programs as required.
  • Completes other duties as requested by supervisor.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves: 

  • Three or more years in an administrative role.
  • Experience in health care or food service environment desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Ability to maintain and work with databases.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand oral and written directions.
  • Accuracy in spelling and grammar required.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines.
  • Courteous, customer service attitude.

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Associate’s Degree preferred. 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Lifting objects up to 40 lbs.  
  • Bending, reaching and grasping  
  • Walking short distances  
  • Exposure to high noise, heat and humidity levels
  • Standing for long periods on hard surfaces
