Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of HR experience, with a strong preference for individuals who have worked within union environments. This role will serve as a trusted advisor and key collaborator with business leaders, providing guidance on all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and workforce planning. The HRBP will play a critical role in supporting both short- and long-term business objectives by implementing HR strategies that foster a positive work environment and support operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring that concerns are addressed proactively and aligned with company policies and best practices.
- Union Collaboration: Partner with union representatives to foster a positive labor relations environment, including addressing grievances, supporting negotiations, and implementing union agreements (if applicable).
- Performance Management: Guide managers in developing and implementing performance management strategies, from setting objectives to providing feedback and supporting professional growth.
- Organizational Development: Support and advise on organizational design and workforce planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimal resource utilization.
- HR Strategy and Compliance: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals, staying current on labor laws and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Employee Engagement and Retention: Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention, including training, development programs, and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably with exposure to unionized environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR) is a plus.
- Skills: Strong understanding of labor relations and employment laws; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships across levels and functions.
- Attributes: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, sound judgment, and integrity.
