This is a dual role of both Houseperson/Warewasher.  You will be trained for both roles but the day of an event you will be scheduled to work and be dedicated to one of those specific roles.

 

Compensation

$16-$18 an hour

 

Position Overview: To set up tables, chairs, linens, maintain the cleanliness of the ballroom areas and all restroom and office space, repair and perform preventative maintenance, and other duties related to the set up and breakdown of event rooms, while maintaining Abigail Kirsch’s high standards of quality. When assigned as a Warewasher. Assist the Warewasher Supervisor in any extra cleaning duties. Maintain Warewashing, pot, and pan clean and remove all garbage.

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum one year of Banquet set-up and/or custodial work

- Basic knowledge of painting, window cleaning and general cleaning

- Ability to handle equipment such as vacuums, sweepers, and carpet extractors

- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals in a safe OSHA compliant manor.

- Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, to obtain information to resolve problems quickly

- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients, and vendors if necessary.

- Able to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels.

 

Banquet House Person Duties & Responsibilities:

 

1. Set-up, Breakdown, and clean event rooms per diagram.

2. Place linen and skirting on all tables for functions.

3. Pin-spot tables, bars, and buffets

4. Refresh rooms in between functions and room turns.

5. Monitor and refresh guest bathrooms during events and spot check throughout the day. Refresh paper goods in dispensers, as necessary. Empty trash as needed

6. Move furniture, tables and chairs for room turns.

7. Ensure event rooms are showcase ready in between events.

8. Assist Captains and Banquet Event Managers during events when needed

9. Clean, organize and maintain storerooms.

10. Disinfect and sanitize all restrooms

11. Sweep and mop all floors, clean mirrors, polish steel and chrome, spot clean and shampoo carpets and chairs

12. Dispose of all garbage

13. Assist with hanging banners at clients’ request

14. Assist when necessary and fill in when needed as a restroom attendant.

15. On Event days when scheduled as a Warewasher check-in with Warewasher Supervisor or Chef when coming on duty for specific objectives for the day.

16. Ensure proper sanitation methods are used in all Warewashing procedures and established standards of kitchen sanitation are maintained.

17. Perform the tasks required for ware washing soiled dishes from the restaurant and banquet using the dish machine.

18. Clean and sanitize worktables

19. Clean and polish silver and cooper chafing dishes, trays, etc.

20. Sweep and mop the kitchen floor and dish room to maintain sanitary environment for food preparation.

21. Remove all garbage, boxes, etc. from the main kitchen areas, as necessary.

22. Plate hot banquet food as required.

23. Assist in Requisitions preparations.

24. Maintain food and beverage service equipment in an organized manner, sorting and storing silverware, dishes, etc.

25. Report any hazardous conditions or broken equipment to the Facilities Supervisor or Warewasher Supervisor.

26. Perform all reasonable requests by the Management team.

27. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.

28. Know and follow all Abigail Kirsch/ The Loading Dock emergency and safety procedures.

29. Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures

30. Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.
