The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, motivated Regional Event Manager to our Abigail Kirsch team in New York, NY. The Regional Event Manager for AK Off Premises, Lancer & CCG NY is responsible for supporting the Director of Event Services and Director of Ops while helping to oversee the event service staff for all AK, LancerOP & CCG NY events.  This individual will work closely with the staffing manager, culinary team and service team to raise and maintain the overall service standards, ensuring the highest level of guest and client satisfaction. S/he will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational issues including event planning, execution, staff management and service standards. S/he will work with the Director of Event Services, Regional Director of Operations and Regional Director of Sales in helping to balance excellence in event execution and profitability.  S/he must work to promote the Company’s culture, mission and philosophy.

What you'll be doing:

EVENT EXECUTION:

  • Support the development of Service models for new venues and events.  
  • Run events at assigned AK OP & CCG NY venues/locations. 
  • Oversee setup and breakdown of FOH and BOH event spaces.
  • Conduct walk –through of event spaces as needed to support event planning and production.
  • Check in rentals and troubleshoot rental orders shortcomings as needed.
  • Coordinate with client and service team on timing of the event.
  • Monitor events to consistently deliver profitable, high-level service for all aspects of the event execution.
  • Document and follow up on all notable incidents at events accurately and in detail on Event Report Sheet.
  • Maintain and continually improve, update, and implement standardized operating procedures (SOP’s) for the front of the house (FOH) for OP & CCG NY staff.
  • Work with Sales & Account Managers / Account Executives to resolve event specific service issues and challenges including walk - through for large/complex events, establishing floor plans, event orders, rental selections, and event timing.
  • Work with purchasing and event management to ensure that all beverage systems are meeting standards.
  • Monitor beverage controls at events.


HUMAN RESOURCES: 

  • Assist in the Hiring, scheduling of new associates. Coach & counsel and conduct performance evaluations of staff. 
  • Assist Director of Event Services and Staffing Manager in writing and conducting Principle Staffing Evaluations & Captain Reviews. 
  • Assist in the development and training of staff and act as a resource to them. 
  • Responsible for recommending or conducting disciplinary action, including termination, of AK OP Event & CCG NY service staff as necessary according to HR company standards.
  • Assist in the Development of necessary training programs for AK OP & CCG NY Service associates.

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the function of Event Lead Captain at 3-4 Events per week, This includes tastings, set-ups and Events.  Must be comfortable with creating assignments and steps of service for small and large events and capable of running large scale social and corporate events. In addition to Events S/he will be responsible for necessary administrative work. 
  • Create and distribute Event paperwork i.e. Captains folders, assignment guides etc.
  • Work with the Staffing Manager and staffing admin to enter timesheets into Kronos on a weekly basis for review by Director of Event Services
  • Maintain and update associate wage, personal information, and status changes in PSCR.
  • Ensure all payroll related tasks are complete on time.
  • Attend and participate in weekly Ops meeting to ensure effective communication and understanding of event/ client requirements. 
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
  • Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.
  • Know and follow all Elior emergency and safety procedures.
     

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years Event / Banquet or Operations management experience in high volume and quality hotel, catering or hospitality establishment. 
  • Prior management event execution experience required. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel a must. 
  • Knowledge of floor and room diagrams software a plus. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and have a strong ability to multitask appropriate work.
  • Must have proven organizational skills and be proactive and effective in problem solving. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients, and vendors when necessary. 
  • Able to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels. 

Compensation:

The salary is $90k/yr.
