The Role at a glance:
We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our Aladdin Campus Dining team in Frostburg, MD. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.
Your Pay:
Compensation for this position starts at $31.00 / hour
What you'll be doing:
Key Accountabilities:
- Delivers nutrition education presentations, healthy cooking demos with Executive Chefs, demonstrations, wellness challenges or events on various topics related to wellness as per predetermined schedule.
- Supports healthy dining goals of the business through BeWell programing.
- Assists students and other customers with special dietary needs, including allergens, providing direction in the dining spaces and/or custom menus as needed.
- Provide 1:1 counseling with students, faculty, or staff regarding their nutritional concerns, questions, or needs.
- Collaborates with campus health services other wellness groups to promote health and wellness on campus via special events. (Examples: nutrition presentations, informational booths).
- Works in menu software on campus for labeling compliance (nutrition information, ingredients and allergen/specialty diet information) in collaboration with corporate wellness and culinary teams.
- Collaborates with the athletic department to assist with the nutritional needs of athletes through activities such as counseling, presentations, and menu choices and planning for the dining hall or on the road.
- Supports the labeling of specialty diet menu options and allergens via the menu software program. Educates and trains food service staff about the labeling program and safe preparation to avoid cross contact as needed.
- Attends facility and company meetings and participates in committees as required.
- Stays abreast of current food, nutrition, and health and wellness issues/research.
What we're looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited Nutrition or Dietetics program and Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Licensed/Certified per State requirements currently or upon hire.
- Maintains continuing education credits as mandated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics of 75 credits every 5 years.
- Previous experience as a clinical or wellness dietitian preferred.
- Able to read, write and provide directions, strong communication and presentation skills and some computer knowledge.
- Practice patient/client confidentiality, effective interpersonal skills, good judgment, ability to listen with empathy and assist in helping clients set goals.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Must be a team player and customer service-oriented.
